Post-workout whey, beef and chicken protein consumption improves body composition but not strength when compared to control 💪

Cool study by Sharp and colleagues (2017) from the Applied Science and Performance Institute showing that whey may not have an advantage over other high-quality protein sources when consumed post-workout 🏋

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Additionally, strength measures did not differ between any conditions (including control) which suggests that for strength, stimulating muscle protein synthesis post-workout may not be that important ☝️

All supplements were in powdered form and all participants consumed 46g of their designated supplement immediately post-workout 👈

Nice excerpt on the practical application section at the end of this paper "those who have dairy and/or lactose intolerances can opt for animal protein sources that are free of these allergens and attain similar body composition and muscular adaptations" 👍
